Atlantic Packaging Products congratulates Fleur Torres, a Graphic Artist intern who joined the company through its student internship program and quickly demonstrated strong talent, curiosity, and a commitment to learning. Her dedication and professionalism have now earned national recognition with the Canadian Print Awards – Best Student Project (Academic Category).

This award marks a significant milestone in Fleur’s academic and early professional development. It reflects Atlantic Packaging Products’ commitment to support the next generation of packaging industry leaders.

A Journey Built on Commitment and Collaboration

Fleur’s award-winning work originated from her team’s participation in the Phoenix Challenge, an international flexographic competition that requires students to design and produce real-world packaging solutions from concept to completion. Atlantic Packaging Products also served as a sponsor of the event, further demonstrating the company’s investment in emerging industry talent.

Fleur and her team partnered with Cheekbone Beauty, a Canadian cosmetics brand recognized for its sustainability and Indigenous-led mission. They designed, conceptualized, printed, and assembled three original printed materials.

Disclaimer: Atlantic Packaging Products does not manufacture this type of product. The project was created independently by the student team as part of the Phoenix Challenge competition.

Competing as the only Canadian school among institutions such as Cal Poly and Clemson University, Fleur and her teammates travelled to Kansas City, Kansas, USA, to present their work. Their creativity, technical execution, and strong collaboration earned national recognition at the Canadian Print Awards, highlighting the strength of Canada’s emerging print and packaging talent.

What Fleur Says About the Achievement

“Receiving this award is one of the biggest accomplishments of my academic and early professional journey. The project took months of work outside of regular classes—managing the team, coordinating each phase, and staying hands-on through every part of production. It challenged me in the best possible ways and helped me strengthen my communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and technical skills.”

She explained that while this experience happened before joining Atlantic Packaging Products, it gave her a solid foundation for her career.

“I wouldn’t have been able to achieve this without the support of my teammates and mentors. Their dedication and countless hours made this accomplishment possible. Winning this award also gave me my first step into a project management role, which will be invaluable for my professional growth. I’m grateful to Atlantic for recognizing my potential, taking a chance on me, and giving me the opportunity to grow within the company. My time at Atlantic has helped me take these skills to the next level professionally, reinforcing my technical and interpersonal abilities, teaching me greater attention to detail, and encouraging me to bring the same sense of teamwork and support to everything I do.”

Looking Ahead

Fleur hopes to continue developing her project management and precision-driven skills, areas she says Atlantic has continually inspired her to explore. Atlantic Packaging Products congratulates Fleur on this remarkable accomplishment and remains committed to supporting students, interns, and emerging leaders within the packaging industry.
